![]() ![]() It wouldn't take away immersion because it's not popping up mid game.Originally posted by ReticularTunic7:Dear Veteran players. I wouldn't want pop ups like in Sekiro explaining things, but maybe besides the messages on the ground and enemy placement, also have a section in the menu where you can read up on the mechanics. The community felt trolled by the dev telling uns "it works as intendet", despite nobody knowing what it does, lol.ĭS 1 did a better job with the enemy place ment as a for of tutorial, I think. It took the community months to figure out what it does. There are plenty of mechanics that are fun to figure out by yourself, but when it comes to things like poise, that's some heavy secretive stuff. Or "holy" beings taking more damage from dark damage. I can't speak for K+M users, because I'm playing only with a gamepad from my couch for over 10 years now (exceptions are games like Do Not Feed The Monkeys, which I use a tiny wireless keyboard with a touchpad for), but for the rest, I'd say the mistery about some mechanics works within the whole atmosphere of the game, at least when it comes to thinks that are intuitive, like you thro fire at an enemy, and see it's being stunned by it for a while. An example of a game that does this really well while still remaining a good challenge is DOOM Eternal. I love this game, even if it makes me want to gouge somebody's eyes out, but I think the game should really do a better job at giving you information on all the mechanics (and also show you the key bindings for mouse and keyboard, not just x-box controller). PvP is fun for me as a pyro with whip or with a big weapon, parry shild and a ranged off hand weapon. I understand it works, but I couldn't bring myself to play like that (way too stressful). Like those weirdos with quick weapons, free aiming and running in circles and twitching around a lot. In pvp, you see new gameplay methods discovered all the time. There are many enemies and bosses that would be more suitable in Bloodborne, but as soon as I two hanb that spiked mace, I'll pummel every thing down because they don't even get to move, lol.Īnyway, most bosses I've beat in 1-2 tries in DS3, but it took at least 100 hours before I understood all the new mechanics and got gud, at least in pve. I sometimes dex builds are not as much fun in DS3 for me, I still do them now and then, but I feel like the enemy's speed increase is much bigger than your characters speed. Now the game feels easy again with big weapons that have poise attacks. DS3 was hard to adapt to, because I was used to including poise in my playstyle.
